What PureBariatric does
PureBariatric helps post-bariatric patients follow the nutrition, hydration, and supplement guidance their surgical team has already given them. The app is educational. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace care from a licensed clinician.
Protein & hydration tracking
Daily targets you can adjust to match your surgeon's plan, with simple visual progress.
Procedure-specific guidance
Content tailored to LSG, RYGB, SADI-S, LAGB, and BPD-DS — including supplement frameworks and stage progressions.
Photo food log (optional)
An optional AI-assisted photo log that estimates the food in a single photo. Off by default. You can use the app fully without ever turning it on.
Recovery milestones
Stage-by-stage checklists from pre-op through Beyond Day 90 to keep you grounded between clinic visits.
About the optional AI Photo Food Log
Read before you tap. The optional Photo Food Log feature uses a third-party AI service, Passio Inc. (United States — passio.ai), to identify food and estimate nutrition from a single photo you choose to capture.
- The feature is OFF by default and can only be enabled through Settings → Privacy or by tapping "Allow Food Scan" the first time you try it.
- Only the food photo is sent — no name, email, account ID, or device identifier.
- Photos are processed for identification only. They are not retained by Passio, are not used to train AI models, and are not linked to your identity.
- You can revoke consent at any time in Settings. Manual entry, barcode scan, and built-in food lookup will continue to work.
Full details, including the equal-protection clause required by Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(i), are on our Privacy page.

Final screenshots will be published with the App Store release.
What PureBariatric is not

- Not a replacement for your surgeon, dietitian, or care team.
- Not affiliated with any hospital, health authority, or insurance provider.
If you have urgent post-op symptoms — uncontrolled vomiting, signs of dehydration, fever, severe abdominal pain, or chest pain — contact your surgical team or local emergency services immediately.
